The Master, Second Warden and Under Warden made a visit to the Bakers' Benevolent Society Bakers' Villas at Epping this week.
Following the Society AGM, they were treated to a wonderful sandwich lunch, al fresco, with some of the residents, followed by lots of cake. It was a great opportunity to chat and to hear their praise for Suzanne Pitts, their Clerk, the Wardens and the Care Team. There followed a guided tour of the complex, including a visit to a couple of the flats and more chat with residents.
Though not formally the remit of WCB, our Benevolent Fund regularly donates to support the valuable work at the Villas, offering support to those associated with the baking industry. Pictured is the plaque from the original Bakers Alms-houses which was moved to Bakers Villas when they opened in Epping in 1971.
