United Guilds Service 2025

The United Guilds Service emerged in the wake of the second world war, assembling representatives from across the war-torn City, to celebrate the enduring power and presence of the Livery Companies, and hope for the future.

The 2025 service followed in the footsteps of its forebears, the nave a colourful collection of Livery gowns in every hue.

The Sermon this year was delivered by the Dean of Southwark, The Very Rev’d Dr Mark Oakley.  He spoke movingly about London's seats of power, before leading the congregation into a contemplation of the covenants we can all make to each other, as individuals, as part of communities, and as the wider Livery. Being a good citizen is more important now than ever.

The Master and Clerk were joined by other Company members in the Company row under the dome, then progressed to an excellent lunch at Stationers' Hall, where the Master spoke on behalf of the guests.
