The baking trade is full of initiatives to encourage the next generation of bakers.
Two of these combined this week, when Liveryman Cassie Howard's 'Grow Your Own Playground' project visited Chisenhale Primary School in Bow, London, for a Homegrown Bread workshop. These interactive days are always a great success with the children. This time, the Star Bakers, who demonstrated particular enthusiasm, skill and interest, were presented with Kitty's Kits, just-add-water bread mixes, the brainchild of Kitty Tait:
