Coleg Cambria in North Wales is one of the UK's largest colleges. Amid its many courses are Level 2 and 3 Diplomas for Proficiency in Baking Industry Skills.
The Benevolent Fund of the Worshipful Company of Bakers recently funded the purchase of a pastry brake for the Coleg. (For the uninitiated, this is a machine used to roll pastry to sheets of a consistent thickness).
Lead Baker Naomi Spaven was delighted to take delivery of this exciting new piece of kit ready for the new course intake, and immediately got to work on putting it through its paces. She foresees many happy times delivering puff pastry and croissant demonstrations to students in the future.
